Write the Story Prompts

Nourish Your Creativity and It Will Nourish You!
Posted Aug-26-2005
Pieces of Me
One of the first pieces of reflective writing I did for an online publication (outside of my own Web site) was in 2003 for the Soul Food Cafe. It's been nearly two years since I wrote Nourish Your Creativity and It Will Nourish You! in response to an invitation by my friend Heather Blakey. ...

Trimming and Decorating
Perhaps I should mention that it is possible to produce stunning errors in this process as well (who would have thought that a decorative line circling the outer circumference of a bowl might not meet with its starting point?). ...

Nit Wits #21: Buttox Botulinum Type C Posted Aug-4-2005
Botox injections are no longer limited to forehead frown lines. Yes, now YOU can have Botulinum Toxin injected where the sun don't shine to rid yourself of other unsightly skin cracks and creases!

Obligatory Puns:

Turn heads with the other cheek.

No more ifs, ands, or buts.

Get your rear in sheer.

The Next Phase: Coaching the Creative Posted Aug-3-2005
In October I will begin my journey into the exciting field of Creativity Coaching. After five fulfilling years with the Creativity Portal, I will branch out into the next logical phase of my creative life: supporting others with their creative dreams.

I will begin training under the renowned Eric Maisel, author of Coaching the Artist Within, Fearless Creating, and many other books related to the creative process. And as I become a coach-in-training, this Web site will grow towards that new direction and reflect the expertise of a creativity coach.

Between now and then I will be working on other projects that will take priority over my almost-daily Creative Slush tidbits and reflective essays. If you've been a faithful follower of this site, thank you for your support, and stay tuned to exciting new features.

You may continue to track all of the original content on this site (including the Mirecle33 Creativity Patch and Cartoony Drawing Lessons) through the Tidbits menu and sitemap. I will continue my work with the Creativity Portal, and will update this site as my muse allows.

Happiness Flash(ing) Posted Aug-1-2005
So I'm reading the latest issue of SELF magazine (Aug. '05) and come across their "Happiness Flash" page (119) full of interesting happiness bits. The last one titled "Fear Factor" caught my eye:

“Bungee jumpers may be on to something: The charge from doing a scary activity may galvanize certain immune cells, enhancing the body's infection-fighting ability, a study from Ohio State University in Columbus reports. Schedule that summer kite-surfing lesson now.”

Bungee jumping? Kite-surfing? Heck, I could just run out my front door with no clothes on. There's a scary activity 'charge' for you. And hey, I wouldn't get sick for years!

Secret: The real reason why I read SELF magazine
