'Creative Careers' Interview with Chris Dunmire
Posted June-27-2008
Things you've always wanted to know, but were afraid to ask...
I'm honored to be included in Molly Anderson-Childers' Creative Careers in the Arts series on the Creativity Portal where I was given the opportunity to discuss some of my new off-line creativity projects, including my Artshops for Kids and the Creative Sparks Creativity Group I'm launching in September 2008 at Womanspace in Rockford, Illinois.
I enjoy this unique interview series on multiple levels — especially for its potential mentoring towards prospective career seekers. The honest conversations and "inner views" into a creative's career (whether an artist, writer, musician, performer, coach, imagineer, publisher, inventor, etc.) gives prospectives an honest glimpse into a creative job, a starting point for doing more research, and an opportunity to contact someone in the field to learn more.
“Have you ever had an original thought
that wasn’t inspired by a fragment
of another?” — Chris Dunmire Interview
Since its launch in 2006, 23 different people have been interviewed for Molly's Creative Careers in the Arts series, including prolific artists, authors, and creativity coaches. Among them include: best-selling author SARK; award-winning designer, author, and artist Annie Lang; the 'Mother of Invention' Joan Lefkowitz; Canadian rug hooking artist Deanne Fitzpatrick; Kaizen-Muse creativity coach and author Jill Badonsky; New York artist and photographer Lynda Lehmann; and TV and movie script writer Jurgen Wolff.
And now add to this list is... Creativity-Portal.com Web publisher, graphic artist, artshop teacher, cartoony humorist, and creativity group facilitator Chris Dunmire! I'm in good company, don't you think? •
